Moreover, by starting at Potato Patch CG, you also have the option, when the #431 meets the Woodchute Trail (#102) to then walk out as far as you like on that latter #102 trail for the views and flora it offers -- for instance, out to the lovely vista spot underneath a charmingly twisted old Alligator juniper tree, or further out on #102 to begin taking in west views to Prescott or all the way down to the point where you officially enter the Woodchute Wilderness area. YCSO Backcountry Search and Rescue (SAR), Verde SAR, search dogs, the Sheriffs Volunteer OHV Unit, 44 Unit and Jeep Posse personnel along with a DPS Ranger helicopter searched on foot, vehicle and air for days trying to locate Mr. Hayes but had trouble due to the difficult terrain and the vast area to be searched.
